In 2011, Thalanyji Trusts were established to hold, manage and distribute funds for the benefit of Thalanyji People. The Thalanyji Advisory Council (TAC) works with the Trustee, Perpetual, to ensure that the funds deliver opportunities that are in the best interests of Thalanyji People.
BTAC members can access current support programs and member assistance through BTAC or Perpetual. Perpetual have a dedicated native title team who work closely with communities across Australia to help them meet their needs and achieve their vision for the future.
Some of the opportunities available to Thalanyji People come in the form of support programs or financial assistance. In the past, our initiatives ranged from supporting member and community projects that increase employment and training opportunities, to community services that improve the living conditions, health and wellbeing of our members, the Thalanyji People, and the Onslow community. Please contact the BTAC office to find out what support or assistance is available to you.
Annual general meetings
As required by the Office of the Registrar of Indigenous Corporations (ORIC), the Buurabalayji Thalanyji Aboriginal Corporation invites all of its members to meet once a year to formally report and discuss the activities of our Indigenous corporation. The meeting serves as a platform for us to connect with the Onslow community and Aboriginal community members at large in the Thalanyji area.
As an ORIC sanctioned Aboriginal corporation, we follow strict guidelines to ensure good corporate governance and compliance with state laws. For more information about the role of the ORIC please visit their website.
