Buurabalayji Thalanyji Aboriginal Corporation (BTAC) is the Registered Native Title Body Corporate (RNTBC) for the Thalanyji People.
BTAC is seeking an Executive Assistant (EA) to provide high-level executive and administrative support, helping ensure the efficient operation of the CEO’s office. The EA must demonstrate cultural sensitivity, discretion, and exceptional organizational skills. Although their primary responsibility will be assisting the CEO, they may also assist other team members as needed.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide administrative and executive support to the CEO, including calendar management, travel arrangements, and meeting coordination.
• Prepare reports, correspondence, presentations, and other documents, ensuring quality and accuracy.
• Act as a first point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, maintaining strong relationships and upholding cultural protocols.
• Coordinate Board and senior leadership meetings, including preparing agendas, minutes, and follow-up action items.
• Assist in monitoring projects, deadlines, and key deliverables on behalf of the CEO.
• Maintain confidentiality and discretion in handling sensitive information.
• Provide cultural and community support coordination where required, including assisting with event planning or ceremonial matters.
• Support governance and compliance requirements by maintaining up-to-date records and documentation.
Selection Criteria
Essential
• At least three (3) years’ experience as a Personal Assistant or Executive Assistant supporting a busy CEO.
• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to work autonomously.
• High level of written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and general computer literacy.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise sound judgment, and manage competing priorities.
• Ability and willingness to travel to remote locations primarily in Western Australia if required from time to time.
• Culturally aware and respectful of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander protocols and practices.
• A valid C-Class Australian Driver’s Licence is required.
• A recent, valid, and clear National Police Clearance.
Desirable
• Prior experience working with Aboriginal Corporations or within Indigenous communities.
• Knowledge of governance and compliance frameworks relevant to Aboriginal organisations.
• A bachelor’s degree in business administration, communications, or related field.
Salary & Benefits
• Competitive annual salary and access to salary packaging providing tax benefits up to $18,550 per year.
• 4 Weeks Annual Leave with Leave Loading of 17.5%.
